Now that the Democrats have lost their Senatorial supermajority, we’ve been hearing a lot of threatening talk about this or that piece of legislation getting filibustered. But there are only — what? — like, a hundred seats in the U.S. Senate? Getting filibustered is something most of us will never experience. It’s much more likely that we will, at some point in our lives, somehow run afoul of a guy in our acquaintance and end up sitting patiently through an apparently endless rant, and call that getting Philibusted. Because, come on. Stick a sock in it, Phil.
